Press Release

The League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds Welcomes the International Court of Justice's Decision to Oblige the Israeli Occupation to Take Measures to Prevent the Crime of Genocide

The league of Parliamentarians for al-Quds welcomes the judicial decision of the International Court of Justice, which obliges Israel to refrain from acts of killing, assault, and destruction against the inhabitants of the Gaza Strip in the case brought by the Republic of South Africa against the Israeli occupation, accusing it of committing the crime of genocide against the Palestinian people in clear violation of the provisions of the United Nations Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.

On this occasion, the League calls on the international community to take immediate political and legal measures to halt the genocide and forced displacement committed by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip. It also calls for urgent efforts to deliver humanitarian aid to the region to protect the lives of children, women, the elderly, and the vulnerable, as well as the immediate return of displaced individuals to their homes in safety and security.

The League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds welcomes the court's decision to impose provisional measures on the occupying entity in the Gaza Strip. It urges the international community to take urgent and immediate steps to impose restrictions on the supply of weapons and technology to the entity, as they contribute to the commission of the crime of genocide perpetrated by the occupation.

LP4Q also takes this opportunity to express their appreciation and commend the courageous step taken by the Republic of South Africa in support of the Palestinian people and their right to reclaim their rights, which is supported by historical facts and international legitimacy.
