The League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds Warns of the Danger of Israel's Assassination of Leader Al-Arouri and Violation of Lebanon's Sovereignty

The League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds strongly condemns the Israeli aggression on Lebanon's sovereignty and its attempt to drag the region into a regional war that serves the Israeli ruling class led by Benjamin Netanyahu. This is done through the assassination of Hamas leader Sheikh Saleh Al-Arouri in Beirut, at a time when Israel is facing charges of genocide and crimes against humanity before the International Court of Justice.

The League emphasizes that this crime is carried out based on Israel's belief that it has immunity from international law and can commit crimes with impunity, as demonstrated throughout its history and currently in Gaza. Israel is a state that only understands power, oppression, and terrorism, and does not seek political or peaceful solutions.

What has occurred should be an additional reason for the world, particularly the United States, to review its policies and abandon its policy of partnership and unconditional support for the terrorist state. Israel should be brought before international courts to receive the long-awaited punishment. Without that, the world will move from one destructive war to another.

The League calls on parliaments, Arab and Islamic countries, and the international community to condemn this crime and support South Africa's request to the International Court of Justice to prosecute the Israeli occupation for violating the Genocide Convention and committing war crimes in the Gaza Strip.

Instead of bringing the perpetrators of this heinous crime to justice, the Israeli occupation forces in Hebron pursued a policy of prosecution of the victims. After the massacre, Israeli forces seized several... Read more
