Press Release by the League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People

On the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, coinciding with the ongoing Israeli occupation's genocidal war against the Palestinian people, the League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds calls for moving beyond symbolic statements and superficial solidarity, and transforming solidarity into practical steps to halt the occupation's crimes and find tangible solutions that lead to the freedom of the Palestinian people and the establishment of their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.

The League emphasizes that despite the United Nations' designation of an international day of solidarity with the Palestinian people, the United Nations and the international community have failed to fulfill their responsibilities and bear the burden of the occupation's assaults and policies towards the Palestinian people, as well as its violations of international laws, resolutions, and human rights.

The League calls upon the United Nations and international organizations to work towards curbing the Zionist state's dominance over international decisions and preventing the obstruction of international institutions through leveraging its relationships with major powers, primarily the United States.

The League underscores the necessity for states that have signed the United Nations Charter to uphold their obligations to achieve peace and international security by activating the United Nations Charter and its laws and not succumbing to the policy of blackmail practiced by Israel and its allies.
