LP4Q condemns the Israeli army's occupation of the Palestinian Legislative Council in Gaza City

Press Release

The League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds condemns the Israeli army's occupation of the Palestinian Legislative Council in Gaza City

The League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds condemns the Israeli occupation forces' raid on the Palestinian Legislative Council headquarters in the Gaza Strip, vandalizing its contents and raising the Israeli flag inside.

The League emphasizes that the occupation of the Council falls within the framework of the occupation's targeting of democracy and symbols of Palestinian independence and its attempt to keep the Palestinian people without political representation. It comes in the context of the occupation's policy of denying the existence of the Palestinian people since the Nakba.

It calls on international and parliamentary institutions to take a firm stance and expel the occupation from those institutions, sever relations with members of the Israeli Knesset, and not limit themselves to condemnation and statements of condemnation.

The League emphasizes that silence about the crimes of the occupation implies participation in them, and leniency with it only increases its audacity to violate international law and commit further acts of genocide.
