Hamid bin Abdullah Al Ahmar, President of the League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds, delivered a speech at the Islamic Parliamentary Assembly Conference held in Istanbul. In his speech, Sheikh Al Ahmar welcomed the attendees, expressing his concern over the difficult situation in the Holy Land and the challenges it faces from international powers and interventions in its affairs, attributing this to the disunity and absence of unity among Muslims.
Al-Ahmar praised the role of the conference in unifying parliamentarians from various Islamic countries in times of division and disagreement, considering it a great achievement. He called upon the people of the Islamic nation to follow the example of the assembly and work towards achieving unity and solidarity.
Al-Ahmar highlighted the achievements of the conference, such as the establishment of the league he heads, the League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds, eight years ago, which has now become a prominent reference in parliamentary work to support the Palestinian cause. He emphasized the role of the league in conveying the voice of Palestine from Latin America to the Far East and enhancing Islamic presence in international parliamentary institutions.
He affirmed the conference's commitment to supporting the Palestinian right, providing several examples of their efforts in this regard, such as sending an international parliamentary delegation to the Gaza Strip and participating in the campaign to save Gaza, as well as engaging with parliaments and countries to raise issues against the Zionist entity in international courts.
Al-Ahmar concluded his speech with inviting the attendees to participate in the upcoming league conference, which will be held in January in Istanbul, and he urged them to continue supporting the league and standing with it in its efforts to support the Palestinian cause. He emphasized the need for unity and joint action until the freedom of the Palestinian people is achieved and their independent state is established
