103 أعوام على وعد بلفور

توافق اليوم الثاني من نوفمبر ذكرى وعد بلفور، الذي منحت بموجبه بريطانيا الحق لليهود في إقامة وطن قومي لهم في فلسطين.
وقبل 103 أعوام، بعث وزير الخارجية البريطاني آرثر جيمس بلفور “وعده” الذي حمل اسمه على شكل “رسالة” إلى البارون المليونير اليهودي روتشيلد، أحد زعماء الحركة الصهيونية آنذاك، لتُعرف فيما بعد باسم “وعد بلفور”.
وجاء في نص الرسالة إن “حكومة صاحب الجلالة تنظر بعين العطف إلى تأسيس وطن قومي للشعب اليهودي في فلسطين، وستبذل عظيم جهدها لتسهيل تحقيق هذه الغاية”.
