The League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds meets the House of Councillors’ Vice-President.

Members of the Executive Committee of the League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds met, On Monday, July 3, 2017, with the Vice-President of the House of Councillors Mr. Abdel-Ilah El-Halouti and a delegation from the Council’s Bureau at a meeting that distinguished many issues related to supporting the Palestinian cause.
The President of the Association, Sheikh Hamid Al-Ahmar, called on members of the Moroccan Parliament, specifically the House of Councillors, to join the Association in preparation for the implementation of an international agenda including programs, seminars and various benefits, in order to stop the bleeding of settlement and Judaization in Jerusalem, and to stop the American decision to transfer the embassy to it, and to defend the issue in European parliaments.
Sheikh Hamid Al-Ahmar said that the primary responsibility of the Maghreb parliaments and the Moroccan Parliament in particular is to seek the support of African parliaments because they have the weight to vote on numerous resolutions within the United Nations and the Security Council.
For his part, Vice-President of the House of Counselors, Mr. Abdel-Ilah Al-Halouti, welcomed the invitation and promised to raise the Executive Committee’s request to open an office of the Moroccan-Palestinian Friendship Group in Parliament to the Presidency of the Council. He also stressed the institution’s involvement in strong initiatives years ago to support the Palestinian cause.
Mr. Abdel-Ilah Al-Halouti praised the great support of King Mohammed VI for the Palestinian cause, especially the Beit Mal Al-Quds Foundation, which leads the way in supporting the steadfastness of the Palestinians, stressing that Moroccans, king and people, are always involved in supporting the Palestinian cause.
The delegation of the Executive Committee of the League was received on Sunday in Rabat on their first visit of its kind, and the delegation includes the President of the Association Sheikh Hamid Al-Ahmar, Vice President Issa Mkiki and the Assistant President Mr. Nureddin Nebati MP in the Turkish Parliament, the Executive Director of the Association MP Jarallah Bashir From Algeria, MP Hadi Mohamed Ali from Sudan and MP Nasser al-Fadala from Bahrain.
