LP4Q WARNS OF A NEW "NAKBA" AWAITING SHEIKH JARRAH NEIGHBORHOOD

PRESS RELEASE

LP4Q WARNS OF A NEW

The League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds (LP4Q) warns of the danger of eviction decisions by Israeli occupation forces against 28 Palestinian families in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in occupied Jerusalem, seeing it as a repeat of the 1948 Nakba scenario.

LP4Q stresses that these decisions are part of the occupation's Judaization plans aimed at changing the city's landmarks and historical character, erasing its Islamic civilization, destroying Palestinian antiquities, and besieging Al-Aqsa Mosque with Jewish neighborhoods.

LP4Q calls on the Jordanian government to obtain the necessary property documents for the twenty-eight families to confront the decision to evict them from their homes.

LP4Q stresses that this move is contrary to the provisions of international law, specifically Security Council Resolutions 476, 478, and 2334, all of which affirm that East Jerusalem is an occupied territory. The relevant provisions of international law apply, and it calls on the world's parliaments to act urgently to halt the occupation plans regarding Jerusalem and respect its historical, legal, and demographic status.
