The League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds and Palestine Mourns Prominent French Lawyer Gilles Devers

With deep sadness and sorrow, the League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds and Palestine mourns the passing of prominent French lawyer Gilles Devers, who passed away after a life dedicated to the struggle for the rights of the Palestinian people and issues of humanitarian justice.

The late Devers was a distinguished example of a free lawyer who courageously stood against injustice and occupation, utilizing his knowledge and legal expertise to defend the Palestinian cause in international forums. He spared no effort in pursuing the crimes of the Israeli occupation and exposing its violations before international courts, always emphasizing the importance of achieving justice and lifting the oppression from the Palestinian people.

We, at the League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds and Palestine, commend the great role played by the late Devers, particularly in pursuing the war criminals of the occupation, the latest being the issuance of arrest warrants against Netanyahu and Gallant from the International Court of Justice. This effort will remain etched in the memory of the struggle for freedom and justice, and we call on human rights and parliamentary institutions around the world to continue his work and strive to achieve what he fought for.
