LP4Q warns of the deliberate targeting and assassination of Palestinian Legislative Council members in the Gaza Strip by the occupation

The League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds warns of the grave danger posed by the deliberate assassination of members of the Palestinian Legislative Council in the Gaza Strip by the Israeli occupation, as well as the targeting of their homes and the killing of them and their families.

The League emphasizes that these heinous crimes reflect the nature of the occupation, its brutality, its disregard for international laws and human rights, its lack of respect for the lives of civilians, and its deliberate targeting of democracy and symbols of Palestinian independence. These actions are part of the denial of the existence of the Palestinian people policy pursued by the occupation since the Nakba.

The League expresses astonishment at the silence of international and parliamentary institutions regarding the occupation's assassination of Council members. Yesterday, Dr. Khamis Al-Najjar was assassinated, preceded by the assassination of Acting President of the Legislative Council, Dr. Ahmed Bahr, and Dr. Jamila Al-Shanti.

The League emphasizes that silence about the crimes of the occupation means complicity in them, and leniency towards it only emboldens it to further violate international law and commit more acts of genocide.
