LP4Q holds the occupation fully responsible for the martyrdom of prisoner Khader Adnan

The League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds holds the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the martyrdom of the prisoner Khader Adnan, as a result of the policy of deliberate medical negligence and the continuation of his administrative detention despite the deterioration of his health.

The league calls for putting pressure on the occupation to stop the policy of administrative detention contrary to international law, in which the occupying state does not comply with the general principles or judicial guarantees and fair procedures related to detention in accordance with international laws and the Geneva Convention.

The league confirms that this policy is a flagrant violation of international law and human rights principles, and a flagrant violation of the simplest international conventions and the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949, specifically Articles 70 and 71 thereof, which require to consider a fair trial that the accused be informed of a clear indictment in a language he understands, showing him the reasons for his arrest, to allow him the possibility of defending himself, which is not applied by the occupying power against administrative prisoners.

The league calls on international and parliamentary institutions to take urgent action to protect prisoners in Israeli occupation prisons from all arbitrary measures and  inhuman treatment, and to prosecute the occupation for its crimes against the Palestinian people.
