LP4Q welcomes the Iraqi parliament’s approval in the first reading of the law banning normalization with the occupation

The League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds welcomes the approval of the Iraqi parliament, in the first reading, of a bill prohibiting normalization with the Israeli occupation.

The League affirms that the draft law reflects the real positions of the Arab and Islamic peoples and the free people of the world regarding the Palestinian issue, which are the positions required of Arab parliaments and free parliaments around the world.

The League calls on parliaments and parliamentarians to take similar steps to punish the occupation for its crimes against the Palestinian people and international law and humanitarian laws, the latest of which was the cold-blooded execution of Palestinian journalist Shereen Abu Akleh.

The League reiterates that such positions will contribute to putting pressure on official, international and parliamentary institutions to move to curb the occupation's attacks, and it will work to confront the misleading and false narrative of the occupation and its attempts to falsify the peoples' awareness.
