MP Freij urges Minister Erdan to negotiate with prisoner Marwan Barghouthi

The Arab member of the Knesset, Issawi Freij, criticized Israeli Interior Minister Gilad Erdan for not negotiating with representatives of Palestinian prisoners who are on hunger strike. “This statement is a political and moral bankruptcy. The Israeli government has to negotiate with the prisoner Marwan Barghouthi who represents Fath’s prisoners in this Open strike, as soon as possible. “
“The strike of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails is a right for them, and the Israeli government must negotiate with them to end their humanitarian crisis,” MP Freij said in a press statement.
As the MP wondered: “Why do the Israeli authorities grant rights and even privileges to Jewish murderers, such as Yigal Amir, the assassin of former prime minister Yitzhak Rabin, while refusing to provide basic matters for the Palestinian prisoners?
MP Friej concluded by saying: “What the prisoners want is to improve their life conditions, not more: to install a public telephone in all prisons to communicate with their families, regular visits to parents, increase visit time, stop medical negligence and provide books and other matters…In short, they demand humanitarian treatment. “
