The Chairman of the Palestine Committee in the Jordanian House of Representatives, MP Suleiman Al-Saud, stressed the need to strengthen the Hashemite custodianship over the Islamic and Christian holy sites in occupied Jerusalem, considering it a barrier against Israeli occupation attempts to Judaize them.
During a meeting hosted by the League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds and Palestine for a visiting Jordanian parliamentary delegation at its headquarters, Al-Saud called for mobilizing Arab and international public opinion to support the Palestinian people and to condemn the occupation’s attacks, whether in the Gaza Strip or the occupied West Bank. He emphasized the importance of establishing a ceasefire in Gaza and adhering to United Nations resolutions that affirm the Palestinian people’s right to establish their independent state.
He expressed hope for the formation of permanent Palestine committees in all parliaments, similar to the Jordanian House of Representatives, to enhance and follow up on official political efforts in support of the Palestinian cause.
The Chairman of the Parliamentary Palestine Committee also stressed the importance of the humanitarian role in delivering aid to the Gaza Strip and the necessity of continuing this support in light of the critical conditions the Strip is experiencing.
