Qatari Shura Council Condemns Resumption of Israeli Aggression on Gaza

The Qatari Shura Council held its regular weekly session today in the "Tamim bin Hamad Hall" at the Council’s headquarters, chaired by His Excellency Mr. Hassan bin Abdullah Al-Ghanim, the Council’s President.

At the beginning of the session, the Council expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the Israeli occupation’s resumption of its brutal aggression against the Gaza Strip and its continued perpetration of crimes against the brotherly Palestinian people, which has resulted in more innocent victims, including children and women, in blatant violation of all international and humanitarian charters and laws.

The Council affirmed that these brutal attacks represent a blatant challenge to international efforts aimed at achieving peace and a deliberate undermining of all efforts to reach a ceasefire and protect civilians.

The Council stressed that the aggressive policies of the occupation will only lead to further escalation and increased suffering for the Palestinian people, which necessitates urgent and decisive action to ensure the protection of the Palestinian people and to put an end to the ongoing violations against them.

The Shura Council reiterated the State of Qatar’s firm and supportive stance on the just Palestinian cause, and the inalienable right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative and relevant international legitimacy resolutions.
