MP Hasan Turan: When Will the US and Israel Be Held Accountable for Genocide?

Hasan Turan, Member of the Turkish Parliament, Chairman of the Turkey-Palestine Interparliamentary Friendship Group, and Vice President of the League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds and Palestine, made striking remarks regarding Israel’s genocidal policies in Gaza.

MP Turan stated that the systematic oppression Israel has inflicted on the Palestinian people for years has entered a new phase, saying: “Death is once again raining down on Gaza’s skies. But this time, instead of bombs, pieces of paper are falling. Israeli warplanes are dropping mocking leaflets over destroyed homes and shattered lives, with the words: ‘Is victory at the door, or not yet?’ written on them. This is the document of the moral collapse of a terrorist state that has long lost its conscience.”

Turan emphasized that Israel’s policies of ethnic cleansing against Palestinians continue openly and that the biggest support for these crimes comes from the United States. He stated: “While Trump proposed the expulsion of Palestinians and collecting the cost of genocide from the Arabs, Israel is once again preparing to charge the victims for the destruction. However, the real culprits of these crimes are well known. Shouldn’t Zionist Israel, which has razed Gaza to the ground, pay compensation for every destroyed home, every severed limb of a child, every silenced scream?”

Turan highlighted that international law is being blatantly disregarded, pointing out that Israel and its supporters follow a policy of threats against the International Criminal Court’s efforts to investigate war crimes. He said, "We are witnessing a system ruled not by law, but by banditry. The world must now see that this system, which operates at the whim of a few states, is unsustainable and that true justice must prevail.”
