Indonesian Parliament Calls for Action to Expel Occupation from the United Nations

The head of the International Parliamentary Cooperation Committee in the Indonesian House of Representatives, Mardani Ali Sera, stated that support for Palestine must evolve into a practical program within Indonesian government policies.

Mardani emphasized during the dedicated parliamentary session that "our entire agenda aims to express our unwavering support for Palestine, and the cause of Palestine becomes one of the committee’s top priorities."

He added that the relationship between Indonesia and Palestine goes beyond the concept of traditional partnership, stressing that "this relationship reflects a spirit of brotherhood and unity; supporting Palestine is a constitutional mandate and a national duty," recalling that Palestine was the second country to recognize Indonesia's independence.

Mardani also expressed his support for the Indonesian government's policy, which affirms its responsibility to support Palestinian independence, stating, "Supporting Palestine requires a clear roadmap to achieve its independence."

He called for intensified pressure on the Israeli occupation, urging the international community to work towards expelling it from the United Nations and to arrest Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for committing genocide in the Gaza Strip.

The League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds and Palestine has issued a call to Arab, Islamic, and global parliaments to hold solidarity sessions with the Palestinian people and take practical steps to stop the genocidal war on Gaza.
