European League President Engages in Conference on Palestinian Issue and Gaza Massacre

OLBIA, Italy - More than 400 students of the Classic High School “Antonio Gramsci” in Olbia town attended a conference on the Palestinian issue and the ongoing massacre in Gaza, held by the European President of the League, Michele Piras, on Wednesday.

The conference, which lasted for four hours, was divided into three sessions, each with a different group of students aged 16 to 18. Piras explained the current situation in Gaza, where Israeli forces have been bombing civilian targets and killing hundreds of Palestinians, including children. He also gave a historical overview of the Nakba, the ethnic cleansing of Palestine in 1948, the occupation of the West Bank and East Jerusalem, and the siege and blockade of Gaza.

Piras said he was impressed by the interest and empathy of the students, who asked many questions and expressed their solidarity with the Palestinian people. “Speaking with the Italian students and answering to so many questions, looking the great emotion in the eyes of the youth, finding out how much they are close to the Palestinian People had been a great moment, a clear signal of hope in a new generation, engaged with the supreme cause of human rights and justice,” he said.
