Palestinian released from Israeli detention was among those reported today as corona cases

A 19-year-old Palestinian from the Ramallah area and who was released yesterday from Israeli detention after being held for two weeks at Ofer military camp and detention center near Ramallah has tested positive for coronavirus and was included in the 15 corona cases announced today by the Palestinian government.
The Prisoners Commission said in a statement that tests on Nour Eddin Sarsour, from Beitunia town, adjacent to Ramallah, came back positive.
It said Sarsour was released yesterday from Ofer prison and that before leaving the prison, his inmates celebrated with him his release, expressing concern about the prisoners catching the corona disease.
The Commission lambasted the Israel Prison Services for not conducting tests on the prisoners before their release, holding it responsible for the life and health of the prisoners who were in contact with Sarsour before his release.
