The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Wednesday evening detained Palestinian minister of agriculture Sufyan Sultan at a military checkpoint near Silwad village, east of Ramallah city.

Minister Sultan was on route to al-Khalil city when soldiers intercepted his car, pointed their guns at his face and threatened to shoot his car next time.

He was also insulted by soldiers and his ID card was seized although he identified himself as a minister.

According to a statement by the ministry, minister Sultan had been exposed to detention several times before at IOF checkpoints in the West Bank.
