Palestinian MP Ahmed Atoun to be released today

The Jerusalemite MP of the Change and Reform electoral list Ahmed Atoun is scheduled to be released on Thursday after spending 11 months in administrative detention.
In April 2017, Israeli forces arrested MP Atoun after ransacking his home in the West Bank city of al-Bireh city.
He was then sentenced to a renewable four-month prison-term, with neither charge nor trial.
His administrative detention was later renewed in two times for four and three months.
The Jerusalemite MP was detained for 15 times at the hands of Israeli forces and banned from Occupied Jerusalem, where he was born and raised, for over eight years.
Palestinian MPs from Occupied Jerusalem have been frequently chased down by the Israeli forces and sent to jail under flimsy security pretexts.
