Member of the Executive Committee of the League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds and Palestine, and Head of the Malaysian Parliamentary Bloc for Palestine, MP Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh, held a meeting with MP Syahrul Adi Maazat, Head of the Indonesian-Palestinian Parliamentary Friendship Group, to discuss ways to enhance regional cooperation within the framework of the Southeast Asia League in support of Palestine.
Also present at the meeting was MP Datuk Bakhthiar, a member of the Malaysian parliamentary Caucus. The participants discussed ways to activate the bloc’s role in supporting the Palestinian cause, particularly in light of the current challenges facing the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
Syed Ibrahim stressed the importance of unifying parliamentary efforts in the Southeast Asian region to coordinate positions in support of Palestine. He emphasized the need to activate parliamentary diplomacy to pressure the international community to stop the Israeli aggression on Gaza and lift the blockade imposed on the territory.
He pointed out that the League is working to expand its activities in the region by establishing a strong regional parliamentary bloc that includes Southeast Asian countries, with the aim of strengthening coordination and sharing expertise in supporting the Palestinian cause at both the regional and international levels.
This meeting comes as part of the ongoing efforts by the League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds and Palestine to activate the role of Islamic and regional parliaments in supporting the Palestinian people, especially in light of the ongoing Israeli genocidal war in Gaza.
