A delegation from the League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds and Palestine held a meeting on Thursday with the representative of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Türkiye, and Executive Committee member of the League, member of the Turkish Parliament, Asuman Erdoğan, to discuss parliamentary efforts to halt the ongoing Israeli genocide in the Gaza Strip.
The delegation discussed with MP Asuman the parliamentary initiatives aimed at stopping the war on Gaza and the aggression against the Palestinian people, as well as ensuring accountability for Israeli occupation crimes.
The two sides also discussed strengthening cooperation between the League and the Parliament, working to enhance parliamentary positions related to the Palestinian cause in various forums to support the rights of the Palestinian people and their just cause.
The delegation praised the Turkish Parliament's efforts to support the Palestinian cause and its recent decisions related to the war on Gaza, emphasizing the need for exchanging visits to discuss political and parliamentary events and to coordinate joint activities.
The delegation included the Secretary-General of the League, Dr. Mohammad Makram Balawi, and the Head of the International Relations Department, Eng. Abdullah El-Beltaji.
Since the beginning of the Israeli genocide against the Gaza Strip, the League of Parliamentarians for al-Quds and Palestine has been leading a parliamentary campaign to pressure international and human rights institutions, as well as parliaments, to take a stance against the war and work to stop it.
