Hon. Michele Piras Takes Part in Dual Conferences in Europe, Amplifying Support for Palestine

Hon. Michele Piras, European President of the League of Parliamentarians for Palestine, made a powerful statement in support of Palestine at the 3rd National Congress of Sinistra Italiana (Italian Left) held in Perugia. The congress, attended by over 1,000 people and more than 400 delegates from across Italy, served as a platform for Piras to express his unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people and condemn the Israeli aggression in Gaza.

“Palestinian children matter," said one of the main leaders of the party, criticizing the failure of European leadership in promote peace in the region. He highlighted the need for dialogue and peaceful solutions, emphasizing that the return of arms, hate, and death should be replaced with words, understanding, and life. He called on the audience to take to the streets and participate in peaceful demonstrations to advocate for lasting peace and the right to self-determination for all peoples.

The congress was attended by people from various backgrounds, including prominent figures from the cultural, trade union, and political spheres.

The President of the European League, Hon. Michele Piras, also participated in a public conference in Dorgali, Sardinia, organized by the Democratic Party, where he was a main guest speaker. Alongside Matteo Meloni, a former press relations representative for the UN and an expert in Middle East policies, Piras addressed over 150 attendees, providing a comprehensive analysis of the historical and current situation in Palestine. The conference focused on the Middle East, with particular attention given to the dire circumstances in Gaza, including the occupation and ongoing ethnic cleansing.
