The heads of the parliamentary blocs of the Algerian National People’s Assembly received the delegation of the League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds, headed by the president of the League, Hamid bin Abdullah Al-Ahmar, on the sidelines of the delegation’s participation in the 17th session of the Conference of the Union of Councils of Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation held in Algeria.

During his speech at the meeting, Al-Ahmar praised Algeria's firm historical stances on the Palestinian issue as president, parliament and people, as it is the central issue of the Arab and Islamic nation, calling for the development of cooperation at the parliamentary and political level and in international forums, to support the rights of the Palestinian people.

The head of the league suggested establishing and activating Palestine committees in the various parliaments, and naming a Palestinian official in each parliamentary bloc, to facilitate and activate the work of all deputies in the service of the Palestinian cause.

For their part, the heads of the blocs affirmed Algeria's firm and supportive position for the just Palestinian cause, and their call to strengthen international efforts to support the Palestinian people in defending their land and rights, calling on society to end the occupation in accordance with United Nations resolutions.
