PUIC granted the League of Parliamentarians for Al Quds, observer status, during its 23 session of the General Committee.

A delegation from the League, headed by the Director-General of the League Dr. Mohammad Makram Balawi, President of the International Parliamentarian Union Committee in the Indonesian Parliament and Deputy President of the League of Parliamentarians for Al Quds Dr. Fadli Zon and the head of PR Department, Mr. Abdullah Al Beltaji participated in the meeting.

Balawi affirmed that granting the League this status is an important step on the path of supporting the Palestinian people's rights and activating the work of Parliaments to support the Palestinian cause, calling upon the parliamentarian unions to engage in the efforts and plan of the League that aims to activate the role and responsibilities of parliamentarians towards the cause.
