LP4Q Obtains Observer Status with the African Parliamentary Union

The African Parliamentary Union announced today, Thursday, the granting of the League of Parliamentarians for Al-Quds, the membership of an observer in the Union during the 76th session of the Executive Committee of the Union held in Djibouti.

A delegation from the league, headed by the president of the association, Sheikh Hamid bin Abdullah al-Ahmar, president's assistant, Al-Bashir Jarallah, the director-general of the league, Dr. Mohammad Makram Balawi, and head of the public relations department in the league, Abdullah al-Beltagy, in the session’s work based on an official invitation from the federation.

Sheikh Hamid stressed that granting the League this status is an important step on the road to supporting the rights of the Palestinian people and activating the work of parliaments to support the Palestinian cause, calling on the parliamentary unions to interact with the League’s efforts and plans aimed at activating the role of parliamentarians and their responsibilities towards the cause.

He pointed out that the League is in contact with the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union, to discuss the league's membership in it, indicating that the initial approval of membership was given and the adoption of the decision will be discussed during the meeting of the executive office of the union.
